Derby-based Rolls-Royce has won orders worth almost £160m from two airlines in the US for aero engines.

American Airlines has ordered eight new Boeing 777-200ER airliners powered by Trent engines in a deal worth over £122m.

Delta Air lines is exercising two options among others announced last November. This increases Delta’s firm orders for airliners powered by Trent 800 engines to 12 aircraft. The new Trent orders are worth more than £30m to Rolls-Royce.
