The blast occurred when molten metal erupted from one of three basic oxygen furnaces, showering contractors. British Steel said an investigation was under way into the incident. The Health and Safety Executive is holding its own investigation. The plant was back in production within an hour and a half of the accident said a British Steel spokesman
