There’s a new model for high speed, robust comms – consumer-producer. Sounds a lot like client server? It’s not – that’s the topology.

Key point is that many networks use `source-destination’ – and it’s inefficient. It’s not geared for implicit (I/O) and explicit (configuration, etc) traffic – whether master-slave or peer-to-peer.

With producer-consumer, messages are identified by content; nodes consume what they need. So you get multi-casting and event-triggered and cyclic comms – much better bandwidth, and explicit and implicit run together.
