The High Court has fined a subsidiary of Austrian VAI £125,000 for evading a search and seizure order in May 1996. Kvaerner Metals obtained the order to recover documents it claims were wrongfully removed from its former offices in Poole, Dorset. The judge said VAI (UK) had been guilty of a ‘serious, deliberate and protracted contempt of court’.
