Manufacturers are failing to grasp opportunities for improving supply chain efficiency, according to a survey published this week.
The ninth annual manufacturing survey by the Bourton Group, formerly Ingersoll Engineers, finds that the majority of companies see improvements in the supply chain as a priority. But few are building the strategic partnerships needed to allow the supply chain to help speed up the cycle of new product development.
‘Firms are talking strategically and acting tactically,’ said David Pheasey, Bourton Group’s supply chain practice leader.
