Compact and user-friendly, the latest VLT5000 drives from Danfoss are now sized from 0.75 to 355kW. Every unit can now automatically adapt to any motor using a no-spin automatic adaption feature. This avoids the need to de-couple the drive from the load and spin the motor.

The new drives are controlled by an upgraded version of Danfoss’ voltage vector control principle – a sensorless open loop flux vector system which virtually eliminates torque ripple on the motor, provides 160% torque down to zero rpm, and has a low settling time after speed and load changes. Four displays are available simultaneously in an IP65 enclosure. Quick menu push buttons are also available.

The unit is CE-marked to the EMC and Low Voltage Directives. It has a built-in RFI filter and d.c. link coils to reduce harmonics.

VLT5000 comes in both a bookshelf version for standard cabinets and a compact flush mounted option.
