Up to 20 companies have come forward to express an interest in German engineering group Siemens’ defence electronics businesses. Banker Morgan Stanley has issued prospectuses to 18-20 companies who want to buy the businesses.
Lockheed Martin has emerged as an interested party in addition to GEC, BAe, Thomson-CSF and Dasa. US firms Northrop Grumman and ITT are also expected to demonstrate interest.
`There will be few surprises,’ said Clive Dolan, managing director of Siemens Plessey Systems.
