A second series of 6U VME boards using Fujitsu’s TurboSPARC 32bit processor is the latest from Force Computers. Its SPARC CPU-8VT joins the earlier 7V board, and is said to offer the industry’s fastest VMEbus throughput and redundant I/O – helping you to speed up the development of SPARC CPU-based embedded solutions.

Like the 7V, it’s also claimed to deliver the best performance value for running UNIX applications on VME in a single slot. Running at 170MHz, it delivers double the performance of the SPARCstation 5 (based on microSPARC-II). Both run standard, unmodified Solaris, and all I/O points and cables are compatible with Force’s SPARC CPU-5V – ideal for embedded applications.

* Force has also introduced the next generation of PowerPC-based VME products – PowerCore. It’s aimed at delivering flexibility and I/O modularity to meet the needs of a range of embedded computing.
