Mechanical Engineer Jim Harding has become chairman of engineering environment and management consulting group Mouchel, adding to his post as chief executive.
Before joining Mouchel Harding held senior posts with lifts company Otis, TI Group and Vickers. He replaces Colin Coulson, who has retired.
John Davis has retired as chairman and chief executive of Intelek after 15 years of service. He leaves the full board on 13 June. He will be replaced by Roger Fletcher as non-executive chairman and Ian Brodie as chief executive. Non-executive directors Gerald Dare and Donald Parvin are to retire on 31 March.
John Fletcher has been appointed general secretary of the Fastener Engineering and Research Association (FERA). Fletcher has almost 40 years’ experience in industry, having worked for GKN Screws and Fasteners, and Unbrako. He aims to develop technical papers and seminars for FERA members.
Peter Jennings has been appointed general manager of pulsation dampers company Flowguard, a subsidiary of Weir Group. Jennings, who joins from Darchem Engineering also part of Weir is a physics graduate with more than 30 years’ experience in industry.
Ricardo Test Automation has promoted George Gillespie to the position of general manager and director. He was previously sales director and head of powertrain testing and development at Ricardo Consulting Engineers.
Former managing director David Derrett has been made special projects director.
Paul Tilley has joined robotic systems integrator and automation equipment manufacturer Bauromat as director. He will work alongside Gordon Biggs, who founded the company in March 1997.
Tilley joins as the company moves to larger premises in Pershore, Worcestershire. He has worked in the robot, welding and automation fields for 15 years.
Mike Jay has been appointed sales and marketing manager for Warth. Jay has degrees in physics and marketing. His brief is to direct the growth of the company in electromagnetic shielding and thermal management businesses.
Victor International Plastics has appointed Richard Pierce as key account manager for the east Midlands. Pierce joins from masterbatch manufacturer Hubron.
Victor has also put Colin Robinson in charge of technical sales in north and south Yorkshire.
Equipment hire group Hewden Stuart has appointed Bob O’Connor as managing director. O’Connor has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry. He will be in charge of 220 depots and 1,600 employees.
The company has also appointed Jim Perry as director of Hewden Services.
Fred Batho and Erik Broderstad have been made operational directors for Hewden Plant Hire’s southern and northern areas respectively.
