If you’re working under Windows v3.1 or Workgroups v3.11, be aware of the following.

First, make sure that you have allocated a generous permanent swap file using the Windows Control Panel Enhanced utility.

Second, if you have 32bit disk and file access selected in WFW, reduce the SmartDrive allocation to 128kbytes only. Third, on a monthly basis, run Scandisk and Defrag utilities to make sure that the hard disk is at peak performance.

Finally, run Scandisk with the /custom option from autoexec.bat (edit the Scandisk.ini file).
