The Health and Safety Executive is investigating an explosion earlier this month which injured 11 employees at a Rolls-Royce aeroengine factory.

The incident happened overnight in a process area of the overhaul and repair facility at East Kilbride.

A spokesman said the men had been investigating a leak in a process tank when there was a flash explosion caused by an inner cylinder fracturing.
