Solid metal prototypes can be made from plastic, paper and sintered powder metal models produced by a variety of rapid prototyping systems by an automatic casting system introduced by MCP Equipment. A silicon rubber mould is taken from the original prototype. This is then used to produce a master wax pattern from which prototypes in aluminium, brass, bronze, copper beryllium and magnesium are cast using the lost wax process.
