The Chemical Industries Association has launched the Third Party Certification for 2000, an independent assessment of companies’ environmental, health and safety systems, as part of its Responsible Care initiative. Pilot trials of the certification process were conducted at CIA member companies in partnership with three certification bodies, the BSI, DET Norsk Veritas and Lloyds Register. `Strong management systems make an essential contribution to improving health, safety and environmental performance,’ said CIA president Barry Stickings.
