A steering system for four-wheel drive vehicles and pick-up trucks that gives greater manoeuvrability at low speeds and better stability and handling at high speeds has been launched by Delphi Automotive Systems. Quadrasteer controls the direction of the rear wheels to reduce a vehicle’s turning circle by an average of 20%. At low speeds, the rear wheels are aligned in the opposite direction to the front wheels. At moderate speeds, they remain straight. And at high speeds the rear wheels turn the same way as the front.
