Now you can graphically view data acquisition in real time – using Pentek’s File Transfer Language, introduced at the Real Time Computer Conference in Santa Clara. It’s a file management system for VMEbus-based DSP and data acquisition subsystems, with several libraries.

FTL is multi-tasking, and it’s got a good GUI to a data streaming engine that automates the set-up and control of the I/O interfaces. Software I/O control means fast development times.

Features are numerous. There’s support for digital I/O, A/D, D/A, SCSI, host file systems and so on. There’s also direct links to LabView, Matlab and DaDisp.
