The world’s largest wheel, to be known as London Eye, will spin at a leisurely two revolutions per hour around these giant bearings measuring more than 2.6m in diameter. The two double-row radial spherical roller bearings were built by FAG in Germany. They are expected to be the largest working bearings in the UK when the wheel opens to the public in January 2000. The wheel will carry up to 750 passengers.
