The London stock market dropped to its lowest level this year on Monday but avoided the panic seen on Wall Street last week. The FTSE 100 tumbled 262 points in the first 30 minutes of trading, but recovered slightly to end the day down 183.5 points. Technology stocks took the brunt of the drop, as the Techmark 100 slumped by 137.5 points. Meanwhile, the US Nasdaq index rebounded by the biggest one-day points gain in its history, easing fears of a global crash.
