The CompactPCI-based embedded boards and systems market now has an additional contender, following Motorola Computer Group’s declaration of entry with `an open systems approach’.
Jerry Gipper, director of marketing, said: `The embedded systems market is moving quickly; the OEM market has evolved and our aim is to ensure that we have platforms to support changes.
`We have been instrumental in defining the EBX form factor for low cost, high performance embedded control.’ He added: `MCG will provide a full range of CompactPCI solutions for OEMs in industrial automation.’
MCG sees CompactPCI as complementing VME and embedded motherboard designs, like MBX and MTX, providing for high bandwidth I/O without the multi-processor power of VME for example. Tel: 01628 763200.
