MEASURE & TEST

Toolkit with wide control

Using the Internet and a Windows PC, the TestPoint Internet Toolkit can control any test or measurement from anywhere in the world, says supplier Keithley Instruments.

The objects-based program turns e-mailed data into TestPoint objects that can be dragged and dropped into an Action List in the TestPoint Web server.

Objects can be used with loops, conditionals and case statements. Refinements include timers, maths, data entry and graphics allowing timed transfer of all relevant data. The software creates custom data acquisition, instrument control and analysis applications.

At 74mm, Compact Instruments’ laser speed sensor is half as long as its predecessor for use in tight spaces.

With a sensing range of 25 2000mm, the sensor provides rotational speed datalogging in vehicle endurance testing.

Electronics are housed separately, making the sensor suitable where there is vibration. Customers like car maker Rover helped push the development.
