Meggitt, the Dorset electronics and aerospace instruments company, has won a contract with Boeing to supply its secondary flight display system on Lockheed Martin’s version of the Joint Strike Fighter for the US armed forces and the Royal Navy.

The integrated solid state device, which replaces three electromechanical devices, will be used on Lockheed Martin’s Concept Demonstrator Aircraft.

Meggitt is to become a risk-sharing partner.

Meggitt is awaiting results of flight trials of its flight display system with both Boeing and Airbus, which could see orders worth millions of pounds and the system becoming an industry standard.
