Following a two-year project with Bristol-based X-innovations, the Motor Industry Research Association can now offer high speed X-ray photography for practical safety engineering development. Mira said its application of this technology was distinctive as it uses large format (1.2mx0.8m) and high speed photography shooting at 1,000 frames per second. In its first application Mira organised the photography to concentrate on footwell intrusion and lower leg injuries to help car makers meet regulations due next year
