Blackpool’s specialist car builder TVR unveiled its all-new 800bhp V12 sports car at the London Motor Show this week, one of the few UK-designed and UK-built vehicles from a British-owned company to debut at the show.

TVR spent about 18 months developing the car, with the project led by chairman and owner Peter Wheeler. Speed Twelve will be built to order from the Blackpool plant, which employs 650 people and has seen orders rise to a record 1,750 cars this year.

The two-seater comes complete with built-in roll cage, and has a body in composite material developed by Scott Bader and PPG. It is powered by TVR’s 7.7 litre V12 engine.
