National Power – results

National Power saw a 10% dip in pre-exceptional profits to £514m for the year to the end of March, caused mainly by falling power prices. There were £1.37bn worth of write-downs affecting its UK and international businesses to cover the cost of renegotiating long-term gas contracts and excess generation capacity.
