New palmtop devices

The first four palmtop devices using Microsoft’s new Pocket PC operating system were launched earlier this week. Pocket PC, based on Windows CE, includes e-mail, spreadsheet and word processing facilities and can launch web pages remotely. Palmtops from Compaq, Casio, Hewlett-Packard and Symbol will offer strong competition to Psion’s keyboard-based personal digital assistant range.
