The merger of GKN’s Defence business with Alvis was completed this week. Over the next few months the vehicle operations of Alvis Vehicles at Coventry will be consolidated with those of the former GKN Defence at Telford, Shropshire.
Tufnol, the Birmingham-based maker of engineering plastics and composites, has bought Countrose Engineering of Derby for an undisclosed sum. It makes water lubricated rubber and polyurethane lined bearings.
