Senior’s Inalsa bid

Senior Engineering Group is to acquire the outstanding 45% minority share in its joint venture with Inalsa, New Delhi-based industrial group for £650,000. Inalsa Flexonics manufactures flexible metal hoses, hose assemblies, bellows and expansion joints, together with rubber and PTFE hose assemblies.

IMI buys US’s KIP

Engineering group IMI has acquired US solenoid valve manufacturer KIP for £18m. KIP, based in Connecticut, US, has 170 employees and turnover of £12m. It will be integrated with IMI’s fluid power valve operations alongside Herion in Germany, acquired in November last year, and IMI Norgren’s UK solenoid manufacturing centre in Bristol.

Group pumps up

Hayward Tyler Group has acquired Georgia Pacific Pump company, based in Vienna, Georgia, US. Hayward Tyler will transfer its submersible technology to the US.

£150m of contracts

GEC Alsthom has won two power station contracts worth a total of £150m. The larger is a £100m turnkey award from PowerGen for a 140MW gas-fired combined heat and power plant at the Brunner Mond works at Winnington in Cheshire. The second is a £50m order to supply two 250MW coal-fired circulating fluidised bed boilers for the Red Hills power plant in Mississippi.
