Northern Electric Generation was last week given the go ahead to build a 180MW gas-fired power station at Avonmouth, near Bristol, to meet the heat and electricity needs of the Sevalco carbon black works. The government’s decision followed approval for three smaller combined heat and power schemes the previous week.
