Windows NT is set to become `the operating system of choice, not just for server and desk top machines, but also for embedded and real time systems’, says VenturCom’s CEO, Michael Dexter-Smith.

This month sees VenturCom’s launch of Component Integrator (CI) and RTX. These address what VenturCom sees as deficiencies in Windows NT. He says they provide target configuration and deployment tools, and embedded and real time extensions.

CI is the GUI target tool – said to reduce software engineering by up to 80%. It lets you select only the elements of NT you need, also reducing boot time.

UK partner, Tellima Technology, is to present seminars on Embedded NT at Microsoft’s offices. Tel 014484 866806.

* VenturCom is to port CI and RTX to Motorola’s Power PC. Motorola says this makes them the de facto for embedded Windows NT.
