Packaging manufacturer Senator Plastics is up for sale after a management buy-in attempt to improve cashflow failed.
The £5m-turnover company, which has been trading since the 1930s, went into receivership two months ago. Efforts by receiver BDO Stoy Hayward to find a venture capital partner for Senator have come to nothing.
Offers are now being invited for the business and assets of the company, based in Haydock, Lancashire, which makes plastic bottles and containers for a range of blue-chip clients in the dairy and fruit juice industries. Twenty jobs have already gone at the firm, which now has a staff of 40.
