Domain Dynamics, a specialist in signal processing and speech-recognition systems, has appointed Ian Taylor and Tim Phipps executive directors.
Phipps joined the company as a software engineer after graduating from the University of Hull. As technical director he will be responsible for developing new products. Taylor, a University of Edinburgh science graduate, joined Domain Dynamics from Thorn EMI and is responsible for business development. His experience includes a period as director of Thorn Secure International.
Greg Quinn is joining plant management and services firm Durr Ecoserve as operations director. Quinn spent 31 years with Land Rover, where he gained considerable experience in body-in-white and paint plant operations, rising to the position of manufacturing manager. For the past year he has been responsible for quality assurance on all Land Rover vehicle surfaces.
John Gerrard has been appointed engineering manager of Manchester-based Hyva UK, a manufacturer of tip gear, hydraulics and load equipment. Gerrard, an IMechE member, joins the firm from transmissions maker Eaton.
Peter Fuller has been appointed managing director of P&B Weir Electrical, replacing Richard Crawcour, who is to retire. Fuller, previously sales director for Bristol-based Hubbell’s AB Chance subsidiary, has more than 40 years’ experience in the electrical supply industry.
Ofgem, the new combined regulator for the gas and electricity markets, has appointed three directors. Gill Whittington, director of strategy at Guys and St Thomas NHS Trust, is to be chief operating officer and will be responsible for completing the merger of former market regulators Ofgas and Offer.
Charles Coulthard, now deputy director general of Northern Ireland energy regulator Ofreg, will represent Ofgem in Scotland, working from its Glasgow office. Sarah Harrison joins Ofgem from premium-rate telephone services watchdog ICSTIS. She will be responsible for strengthening Ofgem’s ties with consumers, the media and government.
