The Government has named a joint venture between John Laing and Serco as preferred bidder for a £300m project to build facilities for the National Physical Laboratory at Teddington, London. The Laser venture will replace most of the NPL’s buildings over 25 years. The project is the first scheme the Government has approved under its reinvigorated Private Finance Initiative.
