PLCs will deflect any serious threat from soft logic systems well into the millennium, according to a new report.

European PLCs, from MarketLine International, concludes the market for PLCs will continue to grow by over 20% by 2002, virtually unaffected by soft logic.

The easing of recession in European manufacturing, particularly automotive, has been behind a growth of 9.2% since 1994, and PLC sales in Europe now account for more than US$1.5 bn.
