Croesor hydro-electric power station at Blaencwm in Snowdonia National Park is back in service after nearly 50 years of disuse because of demand for renewable electricity.

The station, which is nearly 100 years old and has a generating capacity of 500kW, has been redeveloped at a cost of over £1m by National Power Hydro. It will supply electricity under the Government’s non-fossil fuel obligation.
