The future of Ayrshire-based printed circuit board maker Prestwick Holdings remains uncertain, despite its acceptance of an offer from major shareholder TT Group as an alternative to liquidation. US printed circuit board maker Circuitwise has also shown interest in making an offer.

Prestwick employs around 540 at Ayr and Irvine. It supplies circuitry to nearly all the main European car makers.

The strong pound and Far East competition led to an interim loss of £1.1m for Prestwick last year, compared with a £900,000 profit in the previous year.
