Low cost, long-life and light

Precision mechanical couplings from transmission company Reliance Gear have good torsional stiffness and misalignment correction and are lightweight, long-life and competitively priced, the company claims.

Bellows couplings made from stainless steel or phosphor bronze provide the best accuracy and stiffness while twin disc couplings are space saving. Oldham couplings are separable but stainless steel panamech couplings target ‘one-piece’ high vacuum applications.

Ideally suited to emissions testing, Huco Engineering’s dynamometer has been built to cope with the high levels of vibration in internal combustion engines.

Features include a large, vibration-resistant, stainless steel shaft, an additional front shaft bearing for greater support, a reinforced load cell and gusseted pillow blocks. The Magtrol ED-715 produces speeds to 20,000rpm and torques to 6.5Nm accurate to +/-0.25% FS.
