The final assembly facility for the Eurofighter Typhoon has been unveiled by BAE Systems at Warton in Lancashire. The site formerly housed the production line for Tornado and Hawk aircraft. It now includes laser alignment technology, raised mezzanine flooring, hydraulic systems and new docking bays. The first components for the 232 Royal Air Force Eurofighters are due to arrive in September, to be followed by the first test flight in August 2001 and first deliveries in June 2002.
