Publicly-quoted engineering firms are resisting the temptation to go private according to recent research by KPMG Corporate Finance. The survey said the number of public-to-private (PTP) deals in the sector has remained stable. By contrast, the food and drink sector saw a 300% increase in PTP activity during the first six months of 2000.
