Rolls-Royce’s Turbomeca Adour Mk 871 turbofan beat an engine from America’s Allied Signal to a contract to power Australia’s Hawk 100 fighter trainer. Twelve will be supplied from Rolls-Royce’s Bristol plant and the rest assembled by Qantas in Australia.
