* HP and Cisco Systems are to jointly develop Internet-ready enterprise-wide networked computing. HP is already strong in Internet solutons – it recently demonstrated 1,000-plus Internet operations per second on its Internet SuperServer system.

* Meanwhile, HP and Oracle are increasing their mutual development activities. They’re currently working on an open networked computing environment targeted at Intel’s IA-64 future 64bit family – the Merced chip, which will see use throughout HP’s computing range, from PCs to servers.
