Sequencia Corporation has just released two Extensible Makeup Language (XML) BizTalk schemas that enable the new processPoint portal, the only site on the Internet for buying and selling process manufacturing capability, and in doing so should accelerate new product and process introductions.

BixTalk XML schemas define the structure and meaning of data so that different programs can share information across the Internet, or within intranets, using different operating systems and technologies. The Microsoft BizTalk Framework is a set of guidelines for publishing schemas in XML. These processPoint XML schemas define the rules for consistent and understandable exchange of manufacturing recipes, procedures and equipment requirements.

The two new schemas specifically address recipe definitions and process plant equipment definitions. They should enable manufacturers to respond quickly to recipe changes and allow production capacity to be virtually equipment independent.
