A company secretary at a Hampshire engineering firm has been jailed for 12 months for stealing £120,000 from the firm.
Diane Bennett, 49, who worked at Ryman Engineering of Denmead, near Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to theft and false accounting charges when she appeared before Portsmouth Crown Court last month.
The court heard that Bennett, who was earning £30,000 a year, had stolen more than £1,000 a week over two years from the company.
In sole charge of the accounts, she had paid cheques to herself that should have been paid to customers.
She said she had stolen the money because she felt undervalued and discriminated against as a woman in an industry staffed largely by men.
