CONCERN OVER security is holding back e-procurement on the internet, according to a recent survey by accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Of 400 business leaders polled, more than a third said security issues made them reluctant to do more business online.
The survey also revealed an enduring preference for doing business with companies which have a physical presence rather than only existing in cyberspace.
Two thirds of those questioned felt easier dealing with `bricks and mortar’ suppliers online, and they stressed the need to build up a high level of trust before trading with a company via the internet.
