Temple of Boom: The former Templeborough steelworks in south Yorkshire echoed to the sound of crashing rubble and pyrotechnics this week for the spectacular launch of Magna, a £37m project to turn the Rotherham site into a national visitor centre for promoting science, engineering and technology. It is intended to become a symbol of regeneration for Yorkshire and the UK when it opens in Easter 2001.
