Virgin has unveiled the body shells of the high-speed trains under construction for the CrossCountry line. They are being produced in Belgium by Bombardier, which won the £1.06bn contract to design and build 78 trains for Virgin last December. The 352 diesel electric cars, 78 of which have tilting mechanisms, will be delivered from December 2000 to July 2002.
