Train orders go to GEC and Adtranz

Birmingham and Derby this week shared in train orders worth up to £148m. GEC-Alsthom, which assembles rolling stock at its plant in Washwood Heath, Birmingham, won a £100m order to supply 40 Class 334 electric trains for ScotRail. The first trains are due for delivery by July 1999.
