The UK’s deficit in traded goods with the rest of the world has fallen for the third consecutive month, according to latest official figures. March’s global deficit was £1.9bn, compared with £2.2bn in February. The trade gap with the EU fell to £100m from £400m, while the gap with the rest of the world stayed constant at £1.8bn.
