The TUC’s new Organising Academy next week opens its doors to its first 35 trainees, chosen from 1,000 applicants for their leadership, communication and organising skills.

Frances O’Grady, director of the TUC’s New Unionism project which established the academy, said the trainees ‘are potentially the future leaders of the trade union movement. They will target employees in workplaces which already recognise unions but where membership is not 100 per cent.’
