It was with much interest that I read World-wide promotion (The Engineer 5 March) about how the BPMA is using the Internet to increase the business activity of member companies.

In the first two months after the Weir Group’s two main pump manufacturers, Weir Pumps and EnviroTech Pumpsystems, highlighted their product portfolios on the Web, they received over 14,000 hits. The potential world-wide exposure of using this latest technology is such that we see it as a very cost effective method to effectively raise the profile of our activities around the globe. I hope other UK engineering companies will also enjoy the same feedback.
