The Year 2000 problem and the risk it poses to the oil and gas industry is the theme of a two day conference next month in Aberdeen, organised by Project 2000 and sponsored by C&I.

Entitled ‘Project 2000 in Oil and Gas’, the event will cover: scope of the problem; legal ramifications; insurance; and the challenges of embedded monitoring and control systems.

Keynote speaker is Robin Guenier from the Government’s Taskforce 2000. He says that the Millennium problem is technically simple but hugely expensive. Speakers include experts from Shell, BP, Total Oil Marine, Esso, Honeywell, Fisher-Rosemount, RTE and ERA. Tel: 0500 821057.
