Invensys has been elected to the Steering Committee of the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) Forum. The Steering Committee is a group of 20 leading companies that drive the future technology focus and guiding principles of the Universal Plug and Play Forum.
The mission of the Forum is to enable the emergence of easily connected devices and to simplify the implementation of networks in the home, office and everywhere in between.
Invensys was recently elected to the Steering Committee along with Kodak and Xerox. Other members of the Committee include Axis Communications, Broadcom Corporation, Canon, Inc., Cisco Systems, Compaq Computer Corporation, Eastman, Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, General Electric, Hewlett-Packard Company, Honeywell, IBM Corporation, Intel Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Panja, Philips Consumer Electronics, Siemens AG, Thomson Consumer Electronics. Steering Committee positions are elected on a term basis with voting open to the entire UPnP Forum, which now consists of more than 260 members.
